After travelling back and forth to France over a 3 month period in the latter part of 2001 and looking at over 40 lakes, none of which really offered exactly what we were looking for, we were very fortunate to discover that the lake shown above might be available for us. Following successful negotiations, we were in business with a lake that offered tranquility, picturesque views and the potential for being developed into 1 of the best carp fisheries in France. This lake is known as Etang des Moulinots.

The lake had never previously been used as a carp fishery and after a lot of hard work and a substantial investment on stocking the lake, we opened in March 2002.  We have now completed our 6th season and we now have a large number of regular customers who repeatedly rebook, so availability is becoming more limited each year. 

With so many new fisheries opening in France, competition is fierce and there are a fair number of operators who try and get bookings by either falsely advertising their products or do not accurately describe their venue, we have never been accused of that kind of practice! We have been told by many of our guests that there are very few lakes over here in France that are as picturesque or offer such stunning surroundings with no noise disturbance apart from the wildlife, as Moulinots offers. Many of our guests have described Moulinots as being similar to an English estate lake. We do not boast about having loads of 50's, some 60's and also advertise about unbelievable catches, why, because that would not be true! Too many people believe that carp fishing in France is easier than in the UK, personally we think that this is not so! What France offers is a chance for most anglers to catch bigger fish than are available to them on the waters that they fish in the UK.

We recognise that holidays should be regarded as quality time and that is what we aim to offer to all of our visitors!
