After travelling back and forth to France over a 3 month period in the latter part of 2001 and looking at over 40 lakes, none of which really offered exactly what we were looking for, we were very fortunate to discover that the lake shown above might be available for us. Following successful negotiations, we were in business with a lake situated in a forest that offered tranquility, picturesque views and the potential for being developed into 1 of the best carp fisheries in France. This lake is known as Etang des Moulinots and can be described as similar to an English estate lake.

The lake had never previously been used as a carp fishery and after a lot of hard work and a substantial investment on stocking the lake, we opened in March 2002.  We have now completed our 8th season and we now have around 200 customers who repeatedly rebook 1 or even 2 years in advance. In recent years we have not advertised, being very fortunate that the venue has sold itself through the personal recommendations of anglers who have been here and appreciate our venue and the friendly hospitality that we try to provide.

We are not in competition with other venues by trying to offer record breaking fish or providing a runs water! Our objective has always been to provide anglers with a chance of catching big fish and currently we do have 1 of the highest average weight venues in France, currently running at over 35lbs!

We recognise that holidays should be regarded as quality time and that is what we aim to offer to all of our visitors!
